Listing Overview

The fascinating 213-acre Fosterfields Living Historical Farm transports visitors back to the late 1800s, when it was Charles Foster’s gentleman’s farm. Costumed staff answer questions and do their farm chores the old-fashioned way, while teaching visitors about raising animals and growing vegetables. Explore the 1920s farmhouse and the Foster family’s 1854 Gothic revival-style mansion, The Willows (which was built by Paul Revere’s grandson).

This New Jersey State and National Register Historic Site bridges the gap between history and modern life in an interactive way. A transportation exhibit features beautifully restored vehicles that belonged to the Foster family. Each season, the site offers a variety of special events, adult and children's workshops, summer camp, school and home school programs, scout activities and much more.

Experience the presence of the past at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm. This 200-acre New Jersey and National Register Historic Site is complete with farm animals, including cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, chickens, and ducks, crops, period furnishings, and machinery from the turn of the 20th century. Special events, workshops, summer camps, birthday parties, unique daily events, and scout and school programs evoke daily life on the farm. Visit the Farmhouse, the Gothic Revival Willows mansion, the interactive Transportation exhibit (including restored period autos), and a variety of unique flower and vegetable gardens. Knowledgeable staff are on site to bring the past to life.
