Rare Species of Schiff Nature Preserve

October 2 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

$10 – $15

New Jersey is home to many plants and animals, some more rare than others… Schiff Nature Preserve is lucky enough to be called “home” to 5 such rare NJ species! Come hike with us, and talk with us about the Barred Owl, Wood Turtle, Eastern Box Turtle, Tiger Spiketail Dragonfly, and Narrow Leaved Vervain as we visit the specific habitats these most special species can be found. In addition, we will explore the ways in which we can contribute to these species’ survival, helping ensure they are able to thrive in their homes for generations to come! This is a program for all ages, children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. This program is an all-weather event, please dress accordingly. In the event of thunderstorm or extreme heat/cold/wind warnings the program will be cancelled. Member fee is $10 per person. Non- member fee is $15 per person. Guests are asked to have masks on their paerson and be prepared to use them when social distancing is not possible.
