Opera at Florham Presents Crossing Genres

Opera at Florham’s April musicale Crossing Genres presents the lighter side of opera, with opera and operetta interwoven for a more diverse musical experience. The audience will observe the similarities of the two genres and how operetta grew out of the opera art form. The concert finishes with musical theater, a more contemporary art form influenced by opera. Tenor Glenn Seven Allen, soprano Chelsea Friedlander and baritone Matthew Ciuffitelli are uniquely suited for this musical fare having performed in operas, operettas and on Broadway. Artistic Director Mary Pinto accompanies the singers on piano. Commentary is provided by Mariana Karpatova.
Light refreshments are offered during a brief intermission.
An optional 4 course Mediterranean dinner at Gregorio’s Restaurant in Chatham is available after the program.
Gen Adm $30. Discounts for seniors, students, groups. Children free. Concert and dinner $70.
