NJ Audubon: 2019 Summer Camps with Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary — Early Bird Discounts!
Early Bird Discounts, pre-care, and extended post-care now available

Summer Nature Camp registration is now open at NJ Audubon’s Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary (SHWS) for a range of exciting and educational camps that help connect children to nature. Camps are available for children aged four through 15 (or entering 10th grade in the Fall) and begin June 24, running through August 30, 2019.

Early Bird discounts are available until midnight on March 15, 2019 and this year SHWS is extending post-care hours to 5:30pm, as well as offering pre-care (8:30am to 9:00am) for the first time.

NJ Audubon has a long history of connecting children of all ages with nature by exploring, discovering and enjoying our local forests, fields, streams, ponds and beaches, across three venues at Bernardsville, Blairstown and Barnegat Bay. NJ Audubon staff are committed to guiding children in outdoor adventures that foster a deeper connection with the natural world and that are engaging, fun, and support STEM learning through hands-on experiences. The NJA summer education team is highly trained and provides additional educators and counselors to maintain optimal teacher child ratios.

In 2018, hundreds of children attended New Jersey Audubon’s summer camps state-wide, and experienced nature in countless fun-filled ways. When surveyed about their child’s 2018 camp experiences, fully 100% of parents agreed that their child was “more aware of nature” after attending camp. Additionally, 98% said their child was “more respectful of living things in nature”, and 84% said their child is “more interested in science.”
