Movement and Text: A Discussion with Choreographer Kyle Marshall

January 15 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join Bessie award-winning choreographer Kyle Marshall for a discussion about the relationship between spoken text and movement in his work. Marshall sees the dancing body as “a container of history, an igniter of social reform, and a site of celebration.” Marshall will premiere his new work, Horizon, later that week in an evening which also features his work, King, a solo performance to a soundscore inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s final speech, I’ve Been to the Mountaintop. Learn more about the choreographic process, and how Marshall connects text to movement in this intimate artist talk.
