Dancer and choreographer Javier Dzul spent his childhood living in the jungles of southern Mexico participating in Mayan ritual dance. The world premiere of his autobiographical dancework, The Last Mayan King, opens on September 20. Dzul will be in conversation with Curatorial Director of Live Arts Brett Wellman Messenger about Mayan culture and how he became the last king of his tribe.
