Lecture with Master Gardener Ruth Claus
The March Meeting of the Friends of the Red Mill features Master Gardener Ruth Claus talking about John Bartram who was a Pennsylvania farmer during the early 1700’s. He taught himself botany and explored the wilderness from Lake Ontario to Florida seeking plants native to the Colonies. He exported specimen plants and seeds to England and Europe. His endeavors led to a transformation of English gardens in the 18th century and his influences live in public and private gardens.
Friends meetings are held upstairs in the administrative building at the Red Mill Museum Village.
