Introduction to Find My Past

May 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Find My Past is an online genealogy service that holds a variety of resources that can bridge the connection to your British and Irish heritage. In addition to holding United States records, Find My Past provides access to millions of English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and British Commonwealth records, some dating as far back as the 11th century. Collections include parish records, censuses, passenger lists, birth , marriage, and death records, British Army service records, and more. Aimed for the beginning user, the session will cover how to get started, explore the kinds of information you can find, and guide you through the basics of navigation and search techniques. Please e-mail [email protected] or call 973-538-3473 to register for the class as space is limited. Please note that the class will be held in the library’s Tech Training Lab on the first floor opposite the non-fiction stacks.
