How Canals & Anthracite Coal Changed Everyting

April 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Well maybe not everything! However, the availability of reliable inland transportation, like canals, and high-energy transportable fuels, like anthracite coal, started things on a path towards industrialization and technical innovation, a path that we that still follow today.

Towns like Boonton, with its canals, ironworks, and proximity to New York Harbor, played an important part in shaping how things were going to change. In this presentation we will explore some of the things that set the world on the path to where we are today.
