Boonton Residential District Walking Tour
In 1830 the first skilled ironworkers came from England to work in the Boonton Iron Works. They were guaranteed free passage to America, as well as generous wages and new homes for their families. This tour includes an external look at some of these homes and, if scheduling permits, a visit to one of the churches they subsequently built.
The tour is free for members of the Historical Society, and there is a suggested donation is $5.00 for non-members. The tour meets at the Post Office, 501 Main Street, Boonton NJ. and lasts approximately 2 hours. Refreshments will be served after the tour at the Museum (open 1 to 5 PM).
