Acorn Hall Tours Offered in Spanish

Spanish-speakers are invited to learn more about the middle-class lifestyle of Morristownians in the late 1800s at Acorn Hall, headquarters of the Morris County Historical Society, on Wednesdays at 2 p.m., beginning Feb. 17. Tours are also available by appointment.
The tour will be given by Kat Kurylko, MCHS research assistant.
“I’m excited to share the history of Morris County with people in the Latinx community,” said Kurylko, a native Spanish speaker.
Built in 1853, Acorn Hall was owned by the Crane family until 1971 when it was donated to MCHS by Mary Crane Hone, the last of four generations to live at the Hall. Recognized for its original 19th-century furnishings, finishes, and decorative arts, Acorn Hall provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience local 19th-century culture.
Acorn Hall is located at 68 Lafayette Ave., Morristown, and is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m. Admission, which includes the exhibits and landscaped grounds, is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students, and is free for children under 12 and MCHS members.
