Listing Overview

In every stage of life, there’s a special kind of reassurance associated with the comforts of home. The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNA) has devoted more than a century to delivering home health services to residents who want to return home safely following hospitalization or who need a helping hand to remain in the comfort of home due to an illness, disability, or advanced age.

The history of VNA began in 1898 with the founding of Morristown's Female Charitable Society. Recognizing a need for home nursing care in the town and surrounding rural communities, the Society, an organization of wealthy and influential women, hired Morris County's first visiting nurse, Anna B. Hillock. Although the method of travel has changed from bicycle to car, VNA’s commitment to providing in-home care to the community remains unchanged more than 125 years later.
