Art, Sound, Motion…the Morris Museum has it all. From fine arts, exhibitions, and art classes to performances at the Bickford Theatre, experience the inspiration and excitement of this Morris County gem, New Jersey’s only Smithsonian affiliate. Located inside a Gilded Age mansion, the Morris Museum was established in its current location in 1964.  Its collection includes Native American artifacts, model trains, dinosaurs, geological specimens, a robust costume collection, and the world-renowned Guinness Collection of Mechanical Musical Machines and Automata.  There are a number of dramatic spaces that can be booked for weddings or other social events.

Of Special Note:

  • The museum is a popular place to host a wedding or event: have a look here
  • Pay what you wish on the second and third Thursdays of each month (from 4 pm – 8 pm)
  • Children’s Theatre programming and school vacation activities are locally popular
  • National Live Theatre broadcasts are held regularly in the Bickford Theatre
  • New Jersey’s first and only Smithsonian affiliate partnership provides Morris Museum access to Smithsonian traveling exhibitions, expert guest speakers, educational materials, and much more
