Historic Downtown Chester and the HCBA

26 Main Street * Chester * NJ 07930

Reminiscent of America’s old-time mercantile district, take a trip down memory lane as you stroll the brick sidewalks, admire the preserved building facades, and revel in the time-worn beauty that is still the very essence of Chester ‘Main Street’.

The Historic Chester Business Association (HCBA) is a non-profit organization representing over 60+ businesses in Chester.  Their mission is to promote business growth, foster the overall economic climate in the community and work closely with members, local government, landlords and residents to build a prosperous quality of life.  Chester has evolved into a well diversified and quaint Historic Shopping and Dining Center – notable for its popular eateries and variety of over 100 specialty shops.

The HCBA sponsors a multitude of fun and lively public events throughout the year. These events, as well as Chester’s sprawling farms, lush green parks and pictorial scenery, continue to attract visitors from points far and wide.

Of Special Note:

  • The Township of Chester was discovered by following Indian trails and was officially born in 1779
  • Visit the spring and fall crafts fairs and the annual Classic Car Show
