During the Gilded Age, the road from Morristown to Madison was dotted with opulent mansions and sprawling estates that gave it the nickname Millionaire’s Row. Today, the Florham Estate provides a rare glimpse into that world. Heiress Florence Vanderbilt and her husband Hamilton McKeon Twombly created Florham in 1887. The Florham Estate is still well-preserved, since it remained a family home until the 1950s.
Of Special Note:
Currently the Mansion is being used as administrative offices for Fairleigh Dickinson University.
