History buffs will enjoy the comprehensive and unique insight into the state’s role in the Revolutionary War by visiting the collection of state-wide heritage sites that make up the Crossroads of the American Revolution.

This historic organization has curated itineraries and themed trips on its website. Create your own independent road trip or follow the trail of 14 themed storylines that detail the war’s impact on different areas of the state.

Of Special Note:

• There are 49 National Heritage Areas across the country, but this is the only one specifically dedicated to stories of the American Revolution
• Roughly 300 battles and skirmishes were fought throughout the state
