The Morris County Park Commission manages the oldest and largest park system in a bucolic areas of the State. The parks offer hiking, golf, swimming and ice skating parks throughout the county. The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, was voted the “2011 Best Garden” by NJ Monthly. Mennen Arena is host to special events and public ice skating. Each park has trail guides for hikers, and many parks contain historic sites of state and national significance. The Park Commission is the conservator of National Landmark Historic Speedwell, “Birthplace of the Telegraph”, Cooper Gristmill and Fosterfields Living Historical Farm.
